Alexander Vavra – Point of View

I enjoy the visual perspective provided by this point of view. The subjects is on the bleachers of the PBS amphitheater, while I am on the step below them laying down – in an attempt to generate a worm’s eye view. I think this generates a unique approach because the viewer is able to see the soles’ of the subject’s shoes. Typically, the viewer is unable to see the sole of a person’s shoes. However, this provides information about the subject. The shoes also provide a point of entry, which seems to act as a frame for the two subjects. In addition, it seems to give the impression that the viewer might be stepped on!

Even with the pros of the visual perspective of worm’s eye view, I think it needed a little more. If the worm’s eye view was more dramatic, the photo would benefit. I do not think the degree to which the viewer is looking up is great enough.

Very unexpected, surprising, and nicely seen, especially with the doggie on the right of the subject.
